The Mountain has consistently prioritized environmentally sustainable practices and the conservation of natural resources. Creating products that contribute to a greater cause is deeply embedded in the company's corporate mission. In line with this commitment, The Mountain launched Protect in 2018, collaborating with seven non-profit conservation organizations as part of the "Purchase with a Purpose" campaign. Portions of the sales from the Protect line were designated for Pandas International, the African Wildlife Foundation, Panthera, Polar Bears International, the Sea Turtle Conservancy, the Honeybee Conservancy, and Whale and Dolphin Conservation.

To promote the launch of the 2018 Protect line, motion graphics were developed to bring the endangered animals featured on the apparel to life, creating intimate moments that were meant to highlight the beauty of these species that are threatened. The challenge of using only the flattened graphics from the apparel to create these animations presented a unique opportunity, allowing for a seamless transition from the animated animals to their still, high-quality representations on the T-shirts.
