Founded in 1981, The Mountain is a global lifestyle brand renowned for its bold artwear and commitment to sustainability. Made in the US, the brand uses water-based inks, organic dyes, recycled cardboard, and has recycled over 4 million gallons of water. The Mountain is Oeko-Tex certified, ensuring its apparel is free from harmful chemicals.
Supplying 90% of U.S. zoos and 50% of zoos worldwide, The Mountain also collaborates with major retailers like Walmart and Target, along with esteemed institutions such as the Smithsonian and the Louvre. Its iconic animal prints have caught the attention of celebrities like Taylor Swift and Post Malone and have been featured in popular shows like Stranger Things. -
Initially an internal graphic designer focused on creating artwork under direction, the role evolved into a leadership position due to significant contributions and achievements. As a remote creative consultant and designer, responsibilities expanded to include not only design creation but also trend analysis and the development of design systems and art direction to support the internal team.
Throughout the collaboration with The Mountain, countless designs were produced, resulting in over 1,000 original pieces that transitioned into production. The ongoing creation of original illustrations and designs in diverse styles was crucial to the success of The Mountain's e-commerce platform and its partnerships with wholesale clients. Staying aligned with current apparel trends was essential for keeping the brand relevant and driving its evolution and growth. -
